- How to construct buildings?
- Buildings are constructed in the Town Hall in the center of the village. In order to construct a certain building, you need to have in your province the whole resource amount the respective level requires. When the resource is available, a Construct button shows up next to the building. If there isn’t any button, its place is occupied by question mark which means there is something you lack of to complete the construction. By pointing at the question mark with the mouse a tooltip informing about all requirements you still need to fulfill shows up.
- How to raise points?
- By constructing buildings in the Town Hall building, by ordering researches in the University building, by recruiting army in the Barracks and by annexing provinces.
- In which realm do I play?
- Open your profile and take a look below your avatar.
- How to earn gold?
- Gold is earned via taxes. Tax can be set by clicking on the icon with sack of gold next to the Happiness icon in the upper right corner of the village. Do not forget that the higher the taxes, the bigger the Happiness losses.
- How to have a big army?
- Army is recruited in the Barracks. In order to have Barracks you need to have built one in the Town hall >> Military. All units cost wood and iron – the stronger the unit, the more expensive it is.
- How to fight?
- In order to fight, you need army, recruited in the Barracks. Use the Global Map’s filter to choose a player to attack (to avoid penalties, it is recommended that your points are not more than 2 times higher or lower than your opponent's). Spy on some province, simulate the battle and see if you win. Set opponent’s research levels at least like yours or 2-3 levels higher to ensure a victory. If you end up at less than 50 morale, do not attack. Do not send Fortress siege with only cavalry and/or archers – they don’t attack Fortresses and you will lose anyway.
- I ordered a Pillage/Field battle and I didn’t loot any resources. Why?
- Only the Fortress siege command loots resources. Pillage is a Field battle which kills civil population and can bring you just a certain amount of gold. Field battle can get you to destroy enemy army and, thus, bring you certain amount of supply train gold.
- How can I make my gold amount positive?
- Garrison your army so that it doesn’t require upkeep. Sell resources, so that you receive gold, when the offers get sold.
- Why can’t I research in other provinces?
- University is situated in the capital, exclusively, and this is the only place you can order researches from.
- Do researches influence only the capital?
- No, the whole empire.
- My Happiness is at maximum and still my population decreases. Why?
- Happiness doesn’t affect the population growth. It is crucial that you keep your Happiness at maximum levels, so that you don’t lose population to migration, apart from that it has nothing to do with negative growth due to lack of Farms.
- I have enough levels of Farms and still I lose population due to migration. Why?
- Farms decrease your hourly losses of population due to lack of Farms, but don’t determine whether you lose or win population to migration. Migrating population every minute depends on your Empire’s average Happiness and its correlation to the average Happiness of Empires with similar development.
- How do I increase the resource capacity of my province?
- With higher Fortress level.
- How do I build Farms?
- First level of Farms requires one level of Centralization. If you have just one province, then it is a Capital and Capitals have +100 000 bonus to Farm capacity, so in an early stage of development Farms are not necessary.
- How do I create an alliance?
- Click on the flag icon on the left side of the village, type a name for your alliance and click on the Create button.
- I tried to create an alliance, the system informed me an alliance with the same name had already been created. However, I don’t see such alliance. What’s going on?
- Alliances are kept for further eras. If their members do not log into the accounts, these alliances won’t be present in the ranking, but will continue to exist, i.e. their names are reserved.
- How do I invite people to my alliance?
- Players who are currently not part of an alliance appear in the Ranking with a hand icon in the Options column. You can invite a player by clicking on that icon or by typing his name in the Send invitation field of the Alliance menu.
- How come my gold is decreasing?
- It’s because your income is lower than your expenses, namely: big army upkeep and/or loan payments and/or alliance tax.
- What should I order - a Fortress siege, a Pillage or a Field battle?
- It depends on your purpose and the army you have.
The Fortress siege loots the available resources according to your total carrying capacity, but only if you manage to destroy the Fortress and win the battle, so you will be needing enough siege engines and/or swordsmen to smash the Fortress before fleeing due to low morale.*
The Pillage is a Field battle which kills civil population and for every killed villager you receive gold. You get Honor penalty for pillaging.
The Field battle sends the troops to fight only with the opponent's field army, without sieging the Fortress or pillaging the civil population. Field battle army neither loots resources nor kills villagers. The only profit for the attacker is military points for having slashed enemy units and honor in case he has lost at least 10% of his own troops' total gold equivalent.*
* NB! Always simulate the battle first and order the battle solely if you win at more than 50 final moral. - How to lower my army upkeep?
- There are no buildings or researches that lower the upkeep. There are special resources and an Emperor's skill. Army in garrison doesn’t require upkeep, but if you distribute your whole army into the Fortresses it becomes pretty vulnerable for the enemies, mostly when you are not online, so you should rather estimate the risk.
- How do I earn more gold without setting a higher tax?
- Only workers pay taxes in gold, so the bigger the hired number of population, the bigger the gold income. To earn more gold, you should lower your army upkeep (if you have one), by garrisoning the troops at least while you are online. You can also develop Banking and hold 50 000 000 gold in your empire, in order to receive the maximum allowed amount of bank interest. There are also special resources and Great People skills, which increase the gold income.
- What is bank interest and how do I get this?
- Interest is received when you deposit a chosen amount of gold in the bank, for a set period of time. After this period is over, the deposit, along with the gathered interest, could be withdrawn from the bank.
- What will happen if I set my tax to maximum?
- You will start receiving more gold, but your Happiness will drop a lot, if you do not build enough Monuments, University and Fortresses and if you do not set festivals.
- How do I build Houses?
- From the Town Hall
- How do I increase my population limit?
- With Houses.
- How can I have spies?
- Spies are recruited in the Spy School, i.e. you should have previously built them in Town Hall >> Military.
- How are points calculated?
- 1 net worth point = 1000 gold / 1000 wood / 1000 iron / 1000 stone.
Army recruitment net worth points are calculated following the same formula but multiplied x2. - How do I join an alliance?
- There are two ways of joining an alliance. First one is to join an open alliance and second one is to get an invitation sent by the leader of an alliance. In order to be invited you should write a personal message to a leader.
- What are those pictures of objects on the Global Map?
- Special resources. They grant bonuses to the whole Empire, if a colony, province or a trade post is founded on them.
- How to order researches?
- Researches are ordered in the University/Military University building. In order to start a research, you need to have in your capital the whole resource amount the respective level requires. When the resource is available, a Research button shows up next to the building. If there isn't any button, its place is occupied by (i) mark, which means there is something you lack of to complete the research. By pointing at the (i) mark with the mouse, a tooltip, informing about all requirements you still need to fulfill, shows up.
- How to acquire more resources?
- With more workers and higher production. Raise the population number with Medicine, and the production with Fortresses, Premium, аlliance research Production, Bureaucracy levels (if you have more than one province), colony/trading post on gold, wood, stone and/or iron (for more developed accounts).
